Review: Nivea, Extra Whitening Roll-on Deodorant

25 May

I still remember my ballet teacher taught us to buy our first deodorant when we became teenagers, but I never felt they really help control perspiration, I guess it’s because we sweat like crazy when we dance, so it wasn’t useful at all. I just occasionally use deodorant spray, because I like using it before or after dance class for its scent, and I was a fan of Fa’s deodorant spray, they smell really nice. I haven’t used a deodorant for a long time, but there are 2 reasons why I decided to buy this deodorant:

  • One of my favourite beauty guru missglamorazzi recommended Nivea’s 24 Hour Extra Whitening Deodorant and said that they smell very nice and help brighten up the underarm area
  • I am looking for a whitening product for my underarm area.

I saw them at Watson’s one day when I was looking for heel insoles (They are so hard to find and I still can’t find any!), and they were on sale, so I decided to give it a try.

Nivea Extra Whitening Roll-on Deodorant

Nivea Extra Whitening Roll-on Deodorant (HKD$9.9)

I later realized the one I got is different from the one Ingrid recommended (she got the 24-hour solid and spray version), but I guess they are something similar. There’s nothing special about the packaging, just your regular roll-on deodorant.

Well, I think it does its job to control perspiration, but I think some people might not like its scent. It smells okay, I won’t say I really like it but I don’t hate it. The scent is very obvious and you can occasionally smell it after applying it for hours. I don’t use deodorant on a daily basis, so I still need some time to see if it helps whiten the skin and tighten the pore, so will update you later.

However, even if this deodorant really helps whiten the underarm area, I’m a bit hesitant if I would want to buy the full-size product or other products in the same line, because like many other deodorants I have used before, my skin becomes very dry, especially after using it for 2 consecutive days, and you can sometimes see white powder left on your skin.

Can I know how it worked for you? Especially the whitening part ~ cause I am also searching for solutions to dark underarms…

I don’t really have a problem with dark underarms, so I’m not the best person to judge whether this product can help whitening your underarm.
